The NRA Basic Pistol Course
This program teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook. A National Rifle Association Pistol Course Certificate and a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of this course.
The topics covered in the course include:
- -Rules for safe gun handling
- -Pistol parts and operation
- -Ammunition & Shooting fundamentals
- -Range Rules
- -Massachusetts Gun Laws
- -Process of applying for a LTC in Mass.
Tuition is payable in full and in advance to reserve your place in the class. This fee is non-refundable, but rescheduling will be allowed for the next class. This course has limited enrollment. Courses fill up fast and the first 20 applications received will be assigned to the course. The balance will be notified of the next course date, every third Saturday of the month. The registration deadline is one week prior to the next course.
